The theme of this year’s Greenhouse program is Sustainable nutrition. How can we challenge the way we produce and eat food to resolve two of the world’s most urgent problems: climate change and increasing health issues?

The Greenhouse is Lantmännen’s accelerator focused on innovations within food and agriculture – from field to fork. We support up-and-coming entrepreneurs and intrapreneurs and help them turn their ideas into profitable and sustainable long-term businesses. The program consist of six digital workshops and project team work in May-June. All the Greenhouse workshops in 2021 will be digital, so you will be able join from anywhere in the world. The program culminates in Dragons’ Den with Lantmännen top management in September.

The program has been organized since 2014 with the total of 79 projects, and this year’s program being already the 11th. Participating in the program is free of charge. As an entrepreneur, you will keep all intellectual property rights to your ideas when you join The Greenhouse. In the program we are using Microsoft Teams as the collaboration platform, complemented with other digital tools. Recommended project team is 2-4 persons.

Lagoom startup team announces:

“The fashion industry is responsible for a significant amount of waste and exhausting resources. The fast-fashion phenomenon not only creates environmental damage and fair trade issues, but also a culture of overbuying and throw-away.

Right now we are working on a start-up – Lagoom App, a collaboration between Tavarapilvi Oy and gaIoTa Oy. We are a multidisciplinary team of people from different cultural backgrounds and professional expertise but we all share a commitment to sustainability. Our core team consists of Aalto University’s students who are passionate about innovation.

As a part of sustainable fashion solution we empower consumers to be more responsible and contribute more to a sustainable lifestyle, we created Lagoom App. is a completely new way of recycling clothes securely. The solution enables an easy and clever way of creating one’s own community, making managing, buying and selling clothes straightforward. ”Lagoom is the Tinder of second-hand clothes,” says founder Jaakko Isohanni.

Kick scooter sharing pilot concludes on a high note in Otaniemi by Samocat Sharing

Samocat Sharing Oy, with the introduction of Kick-scooter sharing system, the ”most compact public transport” want to add another option for users in their transportation choices by solving the last mile problem. The research focused on understanding stakeholders’ collaboration, required business model and user behavior & experience over a three-month pilot in Otaniemi, Espoo Innovation Garden in Finland.

The Pilot kicked off in the beginning of September 2017 and ended in November 2017. The results of the pilot are now published in a report found here:

Samocat sharing Oy, an international start-up with Russian roots are developing the kick-scooter sharing system as an ideal last mile public transport for urban areas. Samocat sharing consists of a dynamic team of individuals experts in varied fields operating from Moscow, Russia and Espoo, Finland.

City of Espoo, ACRE (Aalto University Campus and Real Estate, TEKES (Tekes, 2017) and Aalto University student union (AYY) are partners with Samocat. Urban mill is the workspace provider with logistics and networking support. Helsinki business hub (HBH) is the consultants who worked from the beginning throughout the pilot.

Focus group for the pilot have been Aalto University students, staff and Corporate employees around Otaniemi area. Six locations around Aalto University campus was set up for the pilot.

Urban Millissä toimiva startup-yritys Samocat Sharing pilotoi kolmen kuukauden aikana uudenlaista potkulautojen lainauspalvelua Otaniemessä. Kokeilu päättyy marras-joulukuun taitteessa.

Kampukselle on asennettu kuusi potkulauta-asemaa, joista laudan voi ottaa käyttöönsä. Asemien sijainnin sekä potkulautojen saatavuuden ja palautustilan voi tarkistaa älypuhelimella Applen ja Googlen verkkokaupoista ladattavan ilmisen sovelluksen avulla. Potkulautoja on yli kolmekymmentä ja alle puolen tunnin testikäyttö on maksutonta.

Otaniemi on Samocat Sharingin toinen Euroopassa toteuttama koekäyttöalue. Palvelua testataan myös Moskovassa.

Green Alley Award 2017 etsii kiertotalouden startupeja ja yrittäjiä

Green Alley Award 2017 on Euroopan ensimmäinen startup-kilpailu jonka painopisteenä on kiertotalous. Tänä vuonna neljättä kertaa järjestettävässä kilpailussa etsitään seuraavaa vihreää liikeideaa. Hakuaika päättyy 25.7.2017.

Suomalaiset startupit ResQ Club ja RePack ovat aiempina vuosina loistaneet kilpailun finaalissa sekä voittajina. Kilpailun järjestää Green Alley, joka on kiertotalouden startup-verkosto. Startup Sauna will transform into an arena for innovative new ideas on 31st of January with four judges and an explosive crowd evaluating your demo.

Workshop day (30.1)

To help our startups prepare for the main event, Will Martin will host a workshop the day before (Monday 30.1) to give enough time for polishing pitches and working on stage presence. Each startup will receive expert guidance on how to make the most of their three-minute time to shine (e.g. overcoming stage fright, handling the judg…es and networking after the competition).

Our honorable panel of judges includes, for example, the seasoned Mike Bradshaw from Solu Machines and investor Jakob Storå from Superhero Capital. They will determine who wins private consulting from the judges to boost their company further and learn a thing or two.

Food, drinks and networking will also be served after the competition. We only have room for eight startups to present their idea and receive valuable feedback for their product so apply quickly and prepare your three-minute pitch!
