Oletko kiinnostunut oppimaan ohjelmointia modernilla ohjelmointikielellä ja näkemään millaista yliopisto-opis­kelu voi olla? Tervetuloa kurssille!

Vuoden 2013 Ohjelmointi 1- kurssi sai loistavat palaut­teet opiskelijoilta, mistä heräsi idea kurssin avaamisesta suuremmalle yleisölle. Tarjoamme nyt avoimena verkkokurssina kurssin joka sisältää Ohjelmointi 1 -kurssin sisällön laajennettuna osalla toista Aallon ohjelmointikurssia.

Tämä uusi kurssi on ns. MOOC, kaikille avoin ilmai­nen verkkokurssi. Termi MOOC tulee sanoista ”Massive Open Online Course”, ja tällaiselle kurssille tyypillisiä ominaisuuksia ovat suuri osanottajamäärä, vapaa osallistuminen kurssille ja opiskelun ja harjoi­tusten suorittaminen verkossa. Kurssimaista MOOC:eissa on se, että ne noudattavat aikataulua, jolloin kurssin suorittajien on mahdollista keskustella ja opiskella yhdessä.

Kurssi ei edellytä aiempaa ohjelmointiosaamista. Jos kuitenkin olet ohjelmoinut vähän aiemminkin, niin kurssilta löytyy varmasti uutta myös sinulle.

Kohderyhmät

Lukiolainen

Jos haluat sisällyttää kurssin lukio-opintoihin, tai aiot hakea Aaltoon opiskelemaan, niin kurssin suorituksesta saa muutakin kuin ohjelmointiosaamista ja diplomin. Kurssin harjoitukset ja tentin hyväksytysti suorittanut saa Aalto-yliopiston suoritus­merkinnän, jonka voi myöhemmin sisällyttää lukion jälkeisiin opintoihin.

Opettaja

Jos olet kiinnostunut oppimaan itse uutta, yhdessä tai erikseen opiskelijoittesi kanssa, niin tervetuloa kurssille. Ohjelmointi on tulossa jossain muodossa peruskoulun oppimäärään, ja tarjoammekin kurssia myös kaikille opettajille, joita ohjelmointi kiinnostaa yleisesti, jotka haluavat kehittää osaamistaan tai saada ideoita ja inspiraatiota ohjelmoinnin opetukseen.

Lukio

Lukio saa halutessaan hyväksyä tämän kurssin suorituksen osaksi lukio-opintoja.

Aallon
opiskelijat

Aallon opiskelijoita pyydetään ilmoittautumaan MOOC:in sijaan kursseille Ohjel­mointi 1 ja Ohjelmointi­studio 2 normaalisti OODI:n kautta. Tällöin opintopisteet kirjautuvat normaalisti, kirjautuminen toimii Aallon käyttäjätunnuksilla jne.

Kurssille otetaan kaikki halukkaat. Rekisteröityminen kurssille avataan 1.9.2014 keskipäivällä ja linkki julkaistaan tällä sivulla: http://mooc.aalto.fi/ohjelmointi/

Rekisteröitymällä saa tunnuksen kurssijärjestelmään, jolla voi palauttaa tehtäviä. Erityisesti jos kurssin haluaa sisällyttää myöhemmin jossain muodossa nykyisiin tai tuleviin opintoihinsa, kannattaa tiedot syöttää tarkasti.

Kuvaus:

Kurssi on intensiivinen kahden viikon workshop, josta ensimmäinen viikko järjestetään Otaniemessä, toinen Lontoossa. Yhteistyökumppanina toimii Lontoon RCA ja kurssin opiskelijoista puolet ovat RCAn palvelumuotoilun maisteriopiskelijoita.

Kurssilla keskitytään oppimisen ympäristöjen suunnitteluun – tarkkailun, haastattelujen ja ryhmätöiden kautta – päämääränä luoda konsepteja tulevaisuuden oppimisympäristöjä varten. Lähtökohtana ”flipped classroom” ajattelu, sekä fyysisten ja digitaalisten ympäristöjen yhdistelmien mahdollisuudet.

Description:

The course is an intensive workshop, lasting two weeks – the first in Otaniemi, the second in London. Half of the students on the course will be Service Design students from the RCA of London – our partner in organizing the course.

During the two weeks, we will focus on the design of learning environments through observation, interviews and groupwork – with the aim of creating concepts for the learning environments of the future. As our starting points, we will have the ”flipped classroom” concept, and the possibilities inherent in combining digital and real spaces.

Sustainable Built Environment is a seminar & workshop
arranged by the school of Engineering and Arts, Design and
Architecture. In the workshops and lecture series local and
international experts and professors discuss the various
aspects of social sustainability, life cycle thinking and
architectural design. The focus is to deepen the collaboration
between the three different discipines and schools, and plan
possibilities with Finnish and international partners.

Design Factory ja Urban Mill täyttyivät innokkaista vierailijoista, jotka tulivat tutustumaan tuotekehityskurssin Product Development Project (PdP) opiskelijoiden kehittämiin toinen toistaan mielenkiintoisempiin prototyyppeihin. – – – Pictures from the Product Design Gala on May 16th 2014, held at Aalto Design Factory & Urban Mill in the heart of Espoo Innovation Garden. The Product Design Gala is an annual seminar presenting the results of the interdisciplinary Product Development Project course in Aalto University. The project assignments are sponsored by both domestic and foreign industrial companies. The student teams work in close cooperation with the sponsor companies throughout the course.

MIT Professor Lawrence Susskind is a leading scholar and a practitioner in the field of environmental conflict resolution and consensus building in complex multiparty issues related to natural resources, energy and land-use. Susskind will be visiting Finland in June 2014 hosted by Akordi Oy (www.akordi.fi) and Aalto University.

Short Bio:

Professor Susskind’s research interests focus on the theory and practice of negotiation and dispute resolution, te practice of public engagement in local decision-­‐making, global environmental treaty-­‐making, the resolution of science-­‐ intensive policy disputes, renewable energy policy, climate change adaptation and the land claims of Indigenous Peoples. Professor Susskind is the author or co-­‐author of fifteen books including, most recently, Water Diplomacy (Resources for the Future), Built to Win (Harvard Business School Publishing), Multiparty Negotiation (Sage), Breaking Robert’s Rules (Oxford), The Consensus Building Handbook (Sage), and Dealing with An Angry Public (Free Press). Professor Susskind is currently Director of the MIT Science Impact Collaborative and co-­‐director of the Water Diplomacy Workshop. He is Founder of the Consensus Building Institute, a Cambridge-­‐based, not-­‐for-­‐profit that provides environmental mediation services around the world. He also was one of the co-­‐ founders of the interuniversity Program on Negotiation at Harvard Law School, where he now directs the MIT-­‐Harvard Public Negotiations Program, serves as Vice Chair for Education, and co-­‐directs the Negotiation Pedagogy Initiative.

The team that loves people: PDP Children Hospital

If you were building a new apartment how would make sure your ideas and
needs are understood by the architect? The staff of the Helsinki Children’s Hospital were struggling with a very similar problem. They had a lot of thoughts on how the New Children’s Hospital should be like but they didn’t know how to communicate their ideas.
The team created a tool which aims to bridge the communication gap between the users and the architects. The tool enables the hospital staff to present their ideas through a physical modelling process. By working together, a better hospital experience is now within reach.
The project (project report here) aim was to create and co-test the modeling space/room, and report possible innovative ideas that come up while doing it. The ultimate aim was to find the best possible design for a (high-dependency) hospital room. In a way the goal was thus twofold: To create a physical testing space and to gather information and ideas. The team built a modeling space with HUS, Hospital District of Helsinki, to empower innovative planning and co-design for the New Children Hospital.
